Living in a Rural Community

Living in a Rural Community

Living in a rural community is something everyone should experience. Listowel and Wingham boast a closeness of neighbours helping neighbours that cannot be replicated in the hustle and bustle of urban life. A mix of agriculture, small industry and entrepreneurship are the driving economic forces behind our close knit communities.

Community pride and camaraderie is infectious whether it is supporting a local sports team in their pursuit of a championship, or rallying around an individual or family in their time of need. Small town people know how to take care of one another.  Out here the air is cleaner, the space is more open and the faces are friendlier.

Neighbours Helping Neighbours

The Alliance strives for the best possible care for the people we serve. We ensure that present and future generations have a wide range of high quality hospital-based services available to them as close to home as possible.

The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance was formed on July 1, 2003 as a partnership between Listowel Memorial Hospital and Wingham and District Hospital. We share a common management structure with one CEO. We have a commitment to partnership and common Mission, Vision & Values. The Alliance Board consists of both hospital boards combined. We look for opportunities to create and share services and programs across our two communities and to look for creative ways to link to our community partners.
