Volunteer Opportunities

Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance Volunteers Needed

WHY VOLUNTEER?

  • You will be giving back to the community through your donation of time and skills
  • You will be able to observe and interact with nursing staff and other professionals who are caring for high-need individuals
  • You will meet a wide variety of patients and assist with their care

NOTE:
If you are in High School, you will be able to use these hours toward the 40 hr volunteer requirement for graduation.

Thank you for your interest in Volunteering with the Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance! We look forward to working with you in the future. In order to be accepted as a volunteer you must complete the following steps:

  • Complete the Volunteer Application Form that can be found on our website under “Volunteer Opportunities”. Be sure to specify which volunteer position you are interested in.
  • You may submit your completed application form to the Switchboard Reception desk, or email to humanresources@lwha.ca.

If your application is accepted:

  • You will be contacted by the Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance Human Resources Department.
  • An interview will be scheduled.

If you are conditionally accepted for a volunteer position:

  • Volunteers must have a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed. In order to obtain a VSC you will need to obtain an official letter from the Hospital stating your name, volunteer position and why you need a VSC completed. This letter can be picked up from the Switchboard Reception Desk. Vulnerable Sector Checks can be obtained through your local Police Station. Please see below for Station details.
  • All volunteers must complete a LWHA Pre-Placement Health Review Form, which can also be found on our website or a copy can be obtained at the Switchboard Reception desk. It is up to all potential volunteers to have these tests and immunizations completed, and to fill the LWHA Pre-Placement Health Review Form on their own time and to the best of their knowledge.
