Nutrition/Food

Patient Food Service

Eating well is an important part of recovery. Nutritious meals are provided to inpatients using “hostess-style” service. There are no marked menus…patients are asked about their food choice immediately prior to meal service. Patients are given a choice of a complete hot meal or can substitute a cold item for the main course. Your physician may order a special diet while you are in the hospital which may limit some of your food or beverage options.

Cafeteria Service

The cafeteria is open for morning coffee break and lunch Monday through Friday. Complete meals, snacks and beverages are available from the food merchandisers (vending) 24 hours a day.

Consults with Registered Dietitian

Clinical nutrition referrals can be made by the doctor to the Registered Dietitian. The Dietitian will see in-patients based on priority. The patient may be assessed as an in-patient or given an appointment to return on an out-patient basis.
